One of the greatest soul groups of the early 1970’s, The Spinners are defined by their sophisticated up-tempo R&B and precision choreography. With over 60 million records sold in their illustrious career, the Spinners have received six Grammy nominations and racked up an unbelievable 18 Solid Gold Top 40 hits. Their numerous Top 10’s include “Then Came You,” “Working My Way Back to You/Forgive Me, Girl,” “Cupid,” “The Rubberband Man,” “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love,” “I’ll Be Around,” and “It’s a Shame.”
Since the early 60’s, as part of Phil Spector’s wall of sound hit factory, Darlene Love has done it all — from music, to film, to TV, to Broadway. In the early years, Darlene performed background vocals as lead singer for The Blossoms behind The Righteous Brothers, Dionne Warwick, Marvin Gaye, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. Her Billboard hits include “He’s a Rebel,” “The Boy I’m Gonna Marry,” “Wait ‘Til My Bobby Gets Home,” and “He’s Sure the Boy I Love.”
